l’arnau refugee
Built it around middle of 1938, the refugee of Ca
l’Arnau it’s an underground gallery over 100 metres of length.It’s
an anti-aircraft refugee with a capacity of 200 people.
The door has the shape of an arch made by strong
materials. Right behind, a stair descends to the gallery.In February 2006, the
gallery was opened again.
AERODROME 329
In the final period of the Civil War, the soldiers of
the Republic made construct an airfield in the Raiguer, near the river Congost,
located in the north side of Montornès del Vallès.
In May 1938 hundreds of men of the region were called
to realize the explanation works of the track. The aerodrome 329 was operative
since June 1938 as a training base for the school of pilots. Then, between the
15th and 23rd January 1939 it was an operations’ base for
the air defence of Barcelona
city.
